Media Lab Masterclass

Media Lab Masterclass

The SWICN Computer Clubhouse was honoured to have two students, Jay Silverman and Eric Rossenbaum, from Media Lab at Massachusetts Institute of Technology visit and run a masterclass with the members, aged 8-18 years.

Our members were delighted to meet the inventors of some of the creative tools they use on a daily basis. This is one of the many unique opportunity they get by taking part in such an innovative and global programme, boasting 100 Clubhouses across the globe.

Jay and Eric were returning from the International Conference on Interaction Design and Children in Barcelona where they presented their latest prototypes.

Review of the day by one of the members, 15 years
"On Monday we had two students from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T) do a workshop with us in the Computer Clubhouse. They showed us the wonderful iPad which everybody seems to want and their app called 'Singing Fingers'. This app allows you record sound while drawing on the touch screen.

They also showed us 'Glow Doodle', a programme that lets you draw on screen with light and a camera. These programmes were really fun and Jay and Eric were really nice too!"
