Need to Know More?

Any young person living in the south west inner city who is between the ages of 8 and 18 years can join the Liberties Computer Clubhouse. To find us simply click on the contact us link for details.

Every 6 months the clubhouse members re-elect a Youth Committee who are in charge of organising Movies & Games day, social outings and upcoming workshops.

Each month there is a showcase for the members to invite their family and friends to come along and see some of the work they create.

What do they do there?

Young PeopleThe Clubhouse is open Monday through Thursday for anyone to drop in and work. During this time there are always mentors ready to show people how to get started on new projects.

As well as all this the mentors put on a host of fun activities each month for everyone:

  1. There are workshops in a range of multimedia subjects for young people to sign up to
  2. Field trips
  3. Guitar and music lessons
  4. Youth committee meetings
  5. Monthly showcase for family & friends

When are you open?

The Computer Clubhouse is open four days a week as an after school programme. It is a drop in service so each young person is allocated one and a half hours to work every day they come in.

  Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Time 3pm - 7pm 3pm - 8pm 3pm - 7pm 3pm - 8pm

N.B. The Clubhouse is open to young people of all ages although on Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm to 8pm the space is for 15 years and up.

How can I sign up for workshops?

In the Clubhouse there is a workshop notice board as you come in the door.

Upcoming workshops are posted here so you must make sure to pop in every once in a while to see what's going on.

However, one of the best things about the Clubhouse is even if there isn't a workshop that you want to do just ask one of the coordinators and they will organise it for you!

Your A Star - Radio Production

Six members of the Clubhouse signed up to a radio show workshop for six weeks between May - June 2008.

We worked with radio professionals, Emma and Paul, from Digital Hub FM 94.3.  We were taught how to brainstorm ideas for the show’s content, how to interview guests in a professional studio, how to record vox pop using microphones and mini-discs and how to piece the show together.

We had great fun making the show and hope you enjoy listening to it!
